IS NIKON D40X BODY CAPABLE FOR 70-300 MM G VR LANCE?
November 25th, 2007 at 10:36 pm
@malav,
yes bro (assuming u’ll buy a nikkor lense) it’s an AF-S lense and also already in my list if u notice
the only weak point Nikon D40x againts non AF-S lenses (eg. AF-D, AF-I) is the auto focus. U can still use those lenses, but you have to do focus manually.

what about the Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8-4 DG for the d40x?
September 8th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
@virginia

if that Sigma has HSM feature for that lense,
than it’s OK for D40/D40x/D60
otherwise you have to do manual focus
for Sigma the key is “HSM” word

SIGMA 70-200mm F2.8D APO EX HSM LENS will this lens work with my d40x? Has the hsm, but wanted to make sure. thanks.

HSM series of Sigma will work with D40/D40x/D60
if you still unsure, I believe the seller will allow you to test the lense on your SLR Body, bro.
So, don’t forget to bring it with you when buying the lens
